Chapter 4@The rule of the form@Box and Bag - shape

From this lecture, the second part will start. It is about the rule of the form, which is something completed in architecture. The assembly of the materials. There appears shape and size. And this is what you could easily access in architecture. For example, the students in architectural school first treat with this shape. Because the other items like substance could not easily be handled at school. There are not those things in a classroom. In addition to that, the architectural education in school is being done in the virtual world of drawings and models in small scale. So you cannot know the real substance till you make the 1:1scale real architecture after you graduate.

Although the relation is relatively understandable, the contents of it is relatively invisible. So by the process of elimination, form is most easily understandable in architecture. This lecture is about the shape as the first part of the form. Then I wondered how this concept; shape is transformed into the antonym. I could not think of that at first, then I remembered when I had been drawing with pencil. There were two types of the shapes, one of which is what you can easily draw with the rulers, and the other one is what you cannot draw even with rulers. And now I think there is the big difference between those shapes for architects, builders, and users.
